Look!

I was ecstatic yesterday afternoon when I discovered this little sprout coming out of the dirt in my planter trays! It's been an entire week since I dropped dozens of tiny seeds into planters and covered them with dirt. Each day I've been watering and watching them (and can I say "babying" them?). I was beginning to get a little impatient and wondering if my gardening skills weren't going to amount to much (although my husband and little brother assured me I just needed to wait a little longer).

But yesterday, after an entire week, I spotted the first little green sprout! I could hardly contain my excitement! Since then, several more have appeared. It has been fun to see their growth progress even in the last 12 hours.
We might just have a vegetable and flower garden after all! I'm so looking forward to fresh vegetables as well as brightly colored flowers on our porch.
