Weekly Poll - March 18 (And Where Has Gretchen Been???)

Joe and I at the annual Valentine's banquet back in February

It's once again time for our weekly poll. But before I got on, I must apologize for my lack of posting recently. If you have been reading this blog for a while, you've probably noticed that things have gotten somewhat quiet over the past two weeks or so. So, where in the world have I been, you may be wondering?

To put it into one word...busy. But since that's a common excuse that can mean so many things, I have a better, more lengthy explanation.

  • I've been busy - working several hours each day for MoneySavingMom.com (work has been crazy as of recent)
  • I've been busy - posting over 60 different USA store deals this week on MoneySavingMom.com (did I mention work has been crazy?)
  • I've been busy - packaging up orders for FashionablyModestPatterns.com (Swimming season is coming!)
  • I've been busy - responding to emails on every kind of topic on the face of this earth
  • I've been busy - practicing piano for a church hymn sing last Sunday
  • I've been busy - spending time with my husband who took me on an overnight trip this week (He's the best!)
  • I've been busy - cleaning, cooking, folding laundry, and taking care of the house
  • And I've been busy - picking up after my silly cat, Molly, who has destroyed more things in our house in the last two weeks than I care to name (including 2 of my most expensive candleholders and several rolls of toilet paper) - but I've forgiven her at the moment!

I used to be the kind of girl that thrived on "the more things going on...the better". My life was filled to the brim. But then I got married. And the world stopped. Or so it seemed. I had tons of time on my hands.

But I'm thankful that God has begun giving me many opportunities and ways to use my time these days. It is a good feeling to go to bed exhausted, knowing you've accomplished much in the last 8 hours. Yes, life has been somewhat crazy the past couple of weeks, but I'm hoping to get this whole "busy" thing figured out again and learn how to juggle many things once more.

I have enjoyed watching the results come in for last week's poll question. At first, I was a little surprised to see so many of you didn't wear lip gloss or lip stick. That is, until I discovered several guys had voted. Yes, you read that right...guys. Hmmmm. (You know who you are!) So, when you read the results, take that into consideration!

Lipstick or Lip Gloss?

Lipstick for sure - 24%
Totally Lip Gloss - 42%
I use them both about the same amount - 13%
I don't wear either - 21%

With Spring just around the corner, and a few gorgeous days this past week, my mind is on the subject of seasons. So that's the question you get these week!
If you had to live year-round in only one season, which would one it be? Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter?

I don't even have to think twice on this one. I am a Spring girl at heart. Every year, I can hardly wait for Spring. That time of year when you can kick off your shoes and run barefoot in the grass. When you finally get to open the windows and doors to let in fresh air. When you look outside and see colors everywhere.

My most favorite days of all are the ones in Spring...70 degrees, sunny, no wind. That is a perfect day!

So, which season would you want to live in year-round?

  1. I'm sorry Gretchen, I could NOT pick only one! I tried, but when I saw I could pick multiple answers, I voted all four! Yes, I live in Michigan. I have never lived anywhere else and all seasons are wonderful. I don't know if I could stand a one season climate!
I wrote this one time to answer the same question in a tag:

    "Favorite Season:
Why, does everyone ask this, when I always say every season?
In Northern MI every season has it's place in the year.
We need winter to work in projects that we will use in the months to come and for a rest from the previous seasons and in preparation for the upcoming ones. We need late winter to make maple syrup. We need spring to get the garden in and that is when all the babies are naturally born too. We need summer for tending plants that give us our food for the winter. We need fall for harvesting and storing the bounty that we grew in the summer. The winter comes again and we rest in prep. . . it goes on!"

I am really enjoying the early spring weather we have been having, it is so beautiful!

  2. I LOVE Spring! it is a time of new beginnings and when the plants begin to flourish and bloom with all gracefulness and when I can get some wonderful photos of them! :)

Also, I normally get my hair cut because it gets soooo long in a year and is thick and heavy, by the time spring comes I start to get headaches because of my hair! Aaah, not fun! So I will most likely get it cut soon! *sniff* It is very hard to let my nice long hair go! :( I know it needs to be done though, so I try and cut it for "Locks of Love" then I do not feel so bad knowing my cut hair is being put to good use other then just being thrown away! :)

Thanks for another wonderful poll Gretchen!

    Blessings,

    Miss Antoinette
