It's once again time for our weekly poll! Last week's question asked how many times a week you cooked a meal. Here are the results:
0-2 times - 13%
3-4 times - 24%
5-7 times - 29%
8+ times - 34%
Wow. Some of you seriously cook a lot. And if you are cooking that much for more than 2 people, I'm very impressed!
Recently, the topic of reading has been on my mind. Basically because I've had a couple of evenings this past week where I actually had time to curl up with a good book. :) And I enjoyed it. So, that's what this week's poll question is about:
How many books on average do you read (and finish) per month?
Recently, the topic of reading has been on my mind. Basically because I've had a couple of evenings this past week where I actually had time to curl up with a good book. :) And I enjoyed it. So, that's what this week's poll question is about:
How many books on average do you read (and finish) per month?I thought of a million questions I could ask regarding this subject. Do you enjoy reading? How many books do you own? What kind of books do you most enjoy reading? Who is one of your favorite authors? How often do you frequent the library/bookstore? I could go on with my questions...but I think you get the idea. :)
I love reading, but I haven't had much time for it lately. Part of my problem is that I start a book, get half-way through, and then get busy and never finish it. Or else when I pick it up again, I've forgotten the first half so I have to go back and re-read it.
The above picture seemed to describe my reading life quite well. I always have at least 5 books on my nightstand - most of them being ones I'm "currently reading" - so when I do get a chance to read, I never know which one to pick up. :) Does anyone else have that problem?
So to answer this week's question...it all depends. Some months I can read up to four books and other months I read zero books. Maybe someday, I'll be as ambitious as some people I know who have a plan for the entire year of what books they will read (and finish!).
If you get a chance, I'd love to hear your answers to my questions above in the comments section. And if you have a suggestion for a good book or author, definitely pass that along as well.
Do you enjoy reading? Yes, I do! I get in more trouble for reading instead of doing my chores or sleeping.
ReplyDeleteHow many books do you own? Over three hundred. But that was at the last count, and I buy books more often then clothing.
What kind of books do you most enjoy reading? Depends on my mood, one day it might be history, while another it is Lit, and then tonight it might be fiction. It all really depends on my mood and what I have on my shelf that I have not read.
Who is one of your favorite authors? Jane Austin, Shelby Foote, Lorri Wick, Kenneth C. Davis.
How often do you frequent the library/bookstore? Weekly, not counting close to daily online.
Do you enjoy reading? Of course!
ReplyDeleteHow many books do you own? NO idea. Probably at least a thousand, combining my original library of about 300 with my husband's.
What kind of books do you most enjoy reading? Stories.
Who is one of your favorite authors? I'll be quite reserved and mention only one, as requested: P. G. Wodehouse
How often do you frequent the library/bookstore? Never been to the library here in Australia. Bookstore, probably every other week.
I'm usually reading 4-5 books at a time. Lately, I've kept them in a stack by my chair in the living room. When I read a chapter or so from the top book, I place it on the bottom of the stack, and cycle through. That probably only works if you're reading pretty consistently, though.
K.
How many? We have more than 500 books (including many children's books) plus all our homeschooling books.
ReplyDeleteWhat kinds? Non-fiction, especially biographies of Godly men and women. I strive to have books which better equip us to know and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.
"He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed." Proverbs 13:20
Favorite authors? In recent years I've discovered two new ones...Isobel Kuhn and Rosalind Goforth, both missionary wives in China during the last century.
Usually I'm reading one book to each of our three children still at home, one for lunch-time reading aloud, and one personally. If we only read together once a week and sometimes miss a week, it can take over a year to complete one book (as was the case of reading "George Muller of Bristol to our oldest son)!
I am SOOOOOOOOO sorry I missed the last two polls! Life is so busy I just plum forgot! Oh dear! I voted 1-2 books! I would LOVE to read more, but time has not allowed it right now! :)
ReplyDeleteYou come up with wonderful polls, and I enjoy doing them!
Blessings,
Miss Antoinette
